How business-related governance strategies impact paths towards the formation of global cities? An institutional embeddedness perspective

Global city formation has become an important goal for many cities in developing countries. However, the influence of governance strategies on a city’s paths towards global is rarely studied literature. To explore how business-related impact formation, this paper uses fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) method to investigate complex causality determinants and different future potential cities. The results show that three configurative interactions sufficient conditions consisting cordial clean relationship between government business yield high including Path 1: combination reducing tax burdens enterprises transparency with absence political integrity. 2: enterprises, government’s care support transparency. 3: services This research significant delineating causal complexity factors interacting each other coproduce institutional environment contributes city.
